Under the patronage of the Jordanian Prime Minister and under the supervision of the Economic Unity Council of the League of Arab States and with the support of the Iraqi Islamic Bank for Investment and Development, the Arab Union for Chemical and Petrochemical Industries held a workshop under the slogan of Arab industrial integration in the field of chemical and petrochemical industries and the fertilizer industry and its role in the economies of the Arab world on 30/04 /2014 in Amman / Jordan.
This workshop was attended by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Musa Hamed, Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, representative of the Prime Minister, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed Al-Rabie, Secretary General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, a number of Iraqi and Arab oil and energy ministers, a number of technical and economic experts in the field of chemical, petrochemical, and fertilizer industries, and a number of From Arab and regional companies, businessmen, investors and banks, a number of lectures were presented by a number of experts in this field in which they discussed the reality of these industries and the prospects for their development and expansion.


* It is no secret to anyone the role that the chemical and petrochemical industries sector occupies in the economies of the Arab countries, and it is the sector that most attracts capital, and the basic components for its expansion and development are available in the Arab world, such as raw materials, qualified personnel, and institutions that provide this sector with specialists, advanced technologies, training and qualification courses, and research activities. Which created a huge industrial base whose invested capital is estimated at billions of dollars and whose outputs cover the Arab and international markets, thus becoming one of the main pillars of the Arab and global economy.
In light of the economic transformations taking place in the Arab world, attention to this sector has become a basic necessity. Based on these facts and believing in the necessity of working to revitalize Arab integration economically and industrially in the face of international industrial and economic blocs, we have therefore taken the initiative to hold this workshop on Arab industrial integration in the field of petrochemical industries.

Workshop objectives
1- Achieving Arab economic and industrial integration to be an active part in regional and international economic development.
2- Working to revitalize commercial relations and coordinate industrial, administrative and technical relations between corresponding Arab and international projects in the field of chemical and petrochemical industries in production, manufacturing and marketing.
3- Working to define the foundations and features of Qatari-Arab specialization for industries.
4- Working to develop the facilities of existing companies with the aim of optimally exploiting their maximum production capacities by reducing production costs and raising production rates.
5- Working to provide advanced technology for the purpose of developing and modernizing these industries.
6- Developing human and labor capacity on sound economic foundations.
7-Working to encourage and develop scientific research, support research, design and consulting institutions in the field of chemical and petrochemical industries and sponsor patents.
8- Finding solutions to protect the Arab environment from the dangers of environmental pollution.
